Klocker Art Prize

The Klocker Foundation’s art prize is the key instrument in its art promotion activities in the spirit of founder Emmy Klocker and the highest art prize in Austria. It was handed out first in September 2014 and subsequently has been awarded alternatingly as a main prize and an advancement award. The award winners are nominated by a jury, applications are not possible. In keeping with the founder’s wishes, the prize is handed out in the fields of painting and sculpture, whereby the terms are taken in a timely, extended manner. The awards go to living artists who are of exemplary importance to Austrian art, placing a special emphasis on Tyrolean art.

Every award is linked to an exhibition and a purchase or a publication. The Klocker Foundation art prize marks key positions in contemporary art and thus also serves to give the collection a clear profile.
