This time, the Klocker Foundation scholarship goes to Fabian Reetz, born in Bad Salzungen/DE in 1997, who began his studies at the Bauhaus University in Weimar in 2017 and is currently studying at the Academy of Fine Arts in Vienna under Prof. Iman Issa.

As part of an artist residency at the Klocker Villa, he will continue to develop his East German Gothic Studies project and create an adaptation of the series specially tailored to the spatial situation of the Art Box.

The exhibition shows works by Max Weiler (1910–2001) from the collection of the Klocker Foundation and sets them in relation to contemporary positions. The artists Carmen Brucic (born 1972), Annja Krautgasser (born 1971) and Angelika Wischermann (born 1983) each refer to individual works, series of works or biographical aspects of Weiler. The comparison reveals both formal and content-related parallels as well as critical debates that open up different approaches to Weiler's work
