Peter Niedertscheider

*1972   lives and works in Lienz

He studied from 1995 to 1999 at the University of Applied Arts in Vienna under Alfred Hrdlicka and Brigitte Kowanz. Niedertscheider's work deals with depicting reality within a textual code, portrayed in rows of figures. Image and text, which operate diametrically to each other, are linked by the artist in his acrylic-brush drawings to reach a new artificial image-text system.

Discover the almost 1,200 works in our constantly growing collection in our online database. In the future, the collection will be expanded primarily through the purchases of current contemporary art associated with the art prizes. However, the jury will also recommend annual purchases to the Board of Directors to supplement the existing holdings of recent Tyrolean art history.
