Florentina Pakosta

*1933   lives and works in Vienna

She studies at the Academies of Fine Arts in Prague and Vienna, as well as in Paris and Amsterdam. From 1972 she focused on the work of Franz Xaver Messerschmidt. Since the late 1980s, Pakosta works on the "tricolors pictures " with constructivist character. In their stringent form and color concentration she formulates a profound revision of the constructivist design manner. She received the Prize for Visual Arts of the City of Vienna in 1984.

In the future, the collection will be expanded primarily through the purchases of current contemporary art associated with the art prizes. However, the jury will also recommend annual purchases to the Board of Directors to supplement the existing holdings of recent Tyrolean art history.
